Que signifie être éloigné d’un trauma, mais le ressentir en soi-même ? En décembre 2019 le coronavirus était quelque chose de lointain ; nous voilà en 2020 au milieu d'une pandémie qui s'aggrave, symptomatique d'une crise climatique de plus en plus tragique. Les artistes ont été forcés à se poser la questions suivante : Comment pouvons-nous continuer à raconter des récits dans un contexte de plus en plus oppressant de dérèglement climatique ? Afin d’y répondre, Séismes, une épopée onirique qui mêle un texte en trois langues avec la danse, et qui traverse des pays et dimensions de réalités différentes, appelle à un théâtre du 21ème siècle qui valorise l’hybridité.

Librement inspiré d'Après le tremblement de terre de Haruki Murakami, cette pièce de Sean Hardy est la troisième de la compagnie Summertide.

What does it mean to not live a traumatic event but feel it in oneself? In December 2019, coronavirus was a far away problem; here we are now in 2020 in the middle of a global pandemic, symptomatic of an ever worsening climate crisis. Artists have been forced to ask the question: How can we continue to tell stories in the ever oppressive context of climate change? In order to respond, Séismes, a dream epic that mixes text in three languages with dance, and that traverses countries and dimensions, calls for a theatre of the 21st century that valorizes hybridization.
